More Robotics, FRC #1714, coached and mentored two FIRST
Lego League teams for the 2007 season. The teams were
made up of students from 13 different schools. This
year’s challenge was called Power Puzzle. The teams
explored alternative energy sources, conducted an energy
audit of a facility, and presented their results and
solutions back to the facility in hopes to encourage
better energy efficiency. Both teams competed at the
Mukwonago Regional.
A Little More Robotics Green Flames won the Gracious
Professionalism Award. They were also nominated for the
Teamwork Award. Their combined scores in all areas
qualified them to compete at the State Tournament on
December 9th in Appleton.
Discovery World’s Hybrid Cyborgs did well at the
regional event as well, receiving a nomination for the
Programming Award. They achieved a personal best in
robot performance, and the research judges particularly
liked their innovative solution.
These teams do more than build robots, they demonstrate
FLL values. They promote FIRST and the study of math,
science, and technology, provide community service, and
display gracious professionalism by respecting each
other and by helping other teams.
• Hosted a 3 day Lego Robotics Camp for 18 elementary

• Met with Congresswomen, Gwen Moore, to explain the FLL
program and what it means to them.
• Presented at Discovery World Museum, a hands-on
science museum - had a challenge table and demonstrated
