We held demonstrations at several community events to promote STEM education and FIRST Robotics. We set up our challenge table, demonstrated robots for the spectators, and took turns explaining what FLL is to the visitors. We held demos at locations throughout the community.
Our LEGO team, the Hurricane Destroyers, had a very exciting season. This year's challenge, called "Nature's Fury" challenged students to focus on solutions to use before, during, or after disaster strikes. This year the students chose to focus on hurricane winds as their main issue. To solve this they integrated a material called Concrete Cloth into a triangle like structure; this would be attached to a house to protect it from strong winds. They were able to demonstrate their solution to judges using Minecraft. Congratulations to the students who competed and presented well this year at the Marquette competition.
