Rebound Rumble Game Overview
The Rebound Rumble robotics game is played between two alliances of three teams each. Each alliance competes by trying to score as many basketballs in the hoops as possible during the two minute and 15 second match. Balls scored in higher hoops give alliances more points. Alliances are awarded bonus points if they are balanced on bridges at the end of the match. In matches where opponent alliances work together to balance on the white bridge, all participating teams earn additional valuable seeding points.
Building Philbert V
Philbert V was built with the primary goals of scoring basketballs in the top hoop and balancing on the teeter-totter like bridge. In order to achieve this, the robot was made with a two-sided intake for basketballs and a turreted shooter. In addition, the four wheel drive train was built to have maximum traction and balance on the bridge. Philbert V was completed earlier in the six week build season than any other robot 1714 had made before. Thanks to the use of a Gantt chart, the drivers were able to use the last week of build season for practice and to work out all the bugs.
