Milwaukee Vex League Kick-off and Mentor Game

This is the third year we are running the Milwaukee Vex League. We added a new twist this year. Students from team, #1714, and #1675 developed a mentor game called Bean Bag Bash. A mentor tournament was held at the league kick-off event on September 29. 2007. The winning alliance was the mentors from team # 1714, More Robotics, and John V-Nuen and Karthic from IFI. They were interested in our Vex program and we were honored to have them attend our event.

The league challenge is called Marble Madness. Robots have to collect marbles and load them into bins to tip scales in their favor. Bonus points are awarded for owning rows of three, including ending with your robot on the center scale.

League competitions took place at Discovery World, preceded by an educational session.

Milwaukee Vex Invitational Tournament

We hosted the 2007 Milwaukee Vex Invitational at Thomas More High School on Dec 2nd.  Our FRC team divided into 4 Vex teams and had a great season. Vex awards included:

  • The Highest League Average Award
  • Milwaukee Vex Challenge Award
  • Performance 1st Place Award
  • Creative Robot Design Award

In addition, our club president, Michael Wittman,   received the Inspiration Award for his work in founding and growing the league over the past 3 years.
